Affiliate marketing for beginners
Today I thought I would share some information that can help anyone interested in affiliate marketing get started. I did some research online for the term affiliate marketing for beginners to see just what kind of information is available to newbies. What I found kind of surprised me.
All of top pages in the google search results for “affiliate marketing for beginners” didn’t contain any really good information. Usually google is pretty good at determining the best information for a search term and providing that webpage in the top ten search results for that search term.
What I found is that if I continued to page three and four and even five or six, I could find better information than google was providing on page one. I’m not sure what is going on, but I’ll bet google has some algorithm changes in the works to deal with this problem.
Anyway, one of the pages with the best information for beginners that I found was entitled Affiliate Marketing for Dummies and it was on page three of the google search results.
What I really liked about this webpage is that the author included a really detailed infographic that any beginner could study and really learn the basics of affiliate marketing. With the name of my website being Visual Art Dallas, I figured that sharing infographics, which is a visual art form, would be a great idea.
So here is the infographic below.
Affiliate Marketing for Beginners Infographic
According to the infographic, affiliate marketing is a multi billion dollar industry. That is big business!
In my estimation, as the number of users on the internet continues to rise, so will the amount of sales attributed to affiliate marketing.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Basically affiliate marketing is a relationship between three parties.
- The Customer
- The Merchant
- The Affiliate
The Affiliate is basically a middleman that brings the other two parties together to complete a sale (conversion).
The Affiliate usually builds a website and establishes him/her self as an expert and once their is traffic to the website, the affiliate will recommend products and services that they have signed up as an affiliate to promote.
Some of the most used affiliate programs are:
- Commission Junction
- Rakuten Linkshare
- And others
There are literally tens of thousands of affiliate programs to choose from.
No matter what niche you choose for your website, there is always an affiliate program available for you to promote.
